Head of Strategic Relationships

Location: Leeds City Centre

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum

Hours of Work: (Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm)

Right now, they are working to deliver an ambitious four-year strategy which will see them helping more people, responding to changing client needs, and working closely with their partners to reduce the harm of problem debt.

They are looking to recruit a strong leader as Head of Strategic Relationships in an exciting leadership role based at their Leeds city centre office. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of free independent debt advice and managed solutions.

This is a critical role as you will be responsible for achieving their strategic objectives by building brand awareness, developing and growing new & existing relationships and driving greater usage of their services.

This role reports direct into the Director of Charity Development. The role is based in Leeds with UK travel involved.

Head of Strategic Relationships Responsibilities:


  • Build & work effectively with internal & external stakeholders to grow the charity & subsidiaries, with focus on the advice sector and strategic relationships ensuring  full compliance with all contractual & regulatory requirements
  • Protect existing and develop new funding streams for the charity
  • Leading your team to deliver the charity and department of the strategy including the Wyman agenda, supporting sector development & innovation
  • Develop the reputation, profile and position of the charity as part of the long term third party relationship and annual plan (working with Director of Charity Development & Head of Business Development)
  • Develop the culture and demonstrate the charity’s values in all areas
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships with key internal/external stakeholders through influencing & being an advocate of change
  • Carry out required actions under FCA regulation
  • Promote and develop the charity’s proposition to third parties and influence internally to improve their systems, processes and proposition
  • Work closely with Head of Marketing & Brand developing marketing & communication plans for creditors and partners, share market insight to help shape the strategic direction working with Public Affairs and policy teams
  • Identify, initiate and maintain funding including FSC

Head of Strategic Relationships Requirements:


  • A proven track record in a senior leadership role in a key account management and/or in a strategic relationship role in a commercial environment.
  • Degree/equivalent qualification or qualification via demonstrable senior level experience.
  • An understanding of the not for profit sector and the ongoing challenges facing third sector in delivering services to people would be a benefit, although not essential
