GIS Analyst

Office Location: Agilysis’ Banbury office and other locations as required (including client premises and home working)

Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 to 17:00 (37.5 hours per week)

  • Deliver road safety service to local authorities

The GIS Analyst Role:

The post holder will play an important role in the delivery of high quality GIS and analytical services for Agilysis’ clients, to inform and support road safety insight. They will contribute to product development and delivery and liaise with clients to ensure they derive maximum benefit from these services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver GIS work and analysis related to road safety statistics from multiple data sources
  • Undertake data management, data visualisation, cartography, spatial analysis, automation/scripting of spatial tasks, web development and many other similar tasks
  • Utilise appropriate software including ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and also open source products (QGIS, Postgre SQL) in an efficient and robust manner
  • Maintain accurate relationships and structures within our GIS data warehouses together with our extensive SQL databases
  • Produce project related records and reports for multiple audiences
  • Contribute to the development of a range of analytical products to meet client requirements
  • Work with the Research team on a wide range of projects providing data and mapping support
  • Present report outputs to clients and explain methodologies to non-technical audiences
  • Attend training and pursue continuous professional development to advance and maintain relevant knowledge and skills

The ideal GIS Analyst will need the following:

  • GIS qualification or 2 years relevant experience
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent
  • Excellent GIS skills and experience of using ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Proven experience of productivity software from the Office 365 suite including substantial excel skills
  • Understanding of databases and basic SQL
  • Experience of data management input and cleansing
  • Be highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Some knowledge and understanding of Road Safety would be beneficial
  • Must have the right to work in the UK with acceptable eligibility documents
