Commercial Manager

Location: Braintree, Essex

TriConnex is a fast growing independent multi - utility connections provider, with an enviable client base of Blue-chip residential developers. We are an ambitious, people orientated, aspirational organisation with a strong focus on leadership and development. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for someone special to join the senior management team. You will have overall responsibility for Commercial performance of all TriConnex projects, bringing commercial and strategic vision and expertise to the commercial function, including procurement. Leading, developing and inspiring individuals and teams is instrumental to this position to deliver our future growth ambitions and objectives within a fast paced, growing market place.

The Position;

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a high performing commercial function that aligns to the development and growth requirements of the TriConnex business overseeing the successful delivery of all commercial activities,
  • Lead the company-wide Commercial team and be accountable for all commercial activities, implementing and overseeing risk management, processes, policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that robust Commercial governance, financial processes and financial systems are in place that delivers confidence in outputs from the commercial function.
  • As a member of the senior management team you will contribute to the development of company strategy and to the Business Plan.
  • Exhibit the company approach to customer service and influence this with the team and to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, asset owners, partners and subcontractors.
  • Recruit, manage, develop and motivate the team to achieve agreed targets and business objectives.
  • Ensure competency of team members, partners, designers and subcontractors monitoring and producing KPIS to monitor performance and SLA agreements,
  • Set budgets and forecasting, monitoring and delivering in line with business objectives and plan.
  • Actively seek improvements and implement changes to support business growth.
  • Lead by example in regards to company health and safety compliance in all aspects of operations ensuring that safe working practices are in place and being adhered to.
  • Work closely with peers to ensure a full technical and commercial service from pre contract to final account.

Experience and attributes;

  • Experience working at Senior Manager level within the construction sector, ideally utilities.
  • Must hold a strong, proven background within Quantity Surveying in a senior capacity with a track record of delivering agreed objectives and dedicated to achieving deadlines and targets.
  • Skilled in the successful management and leadership of teams across multiple functions.
  • Expert knowledge of Quantity Surveying methods and techniques.
  • In-depth commercial and strategic knowledge.
  • Experience in change management and enabling business growth would be desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership, motivational and people skills with experience of successful change management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise at various levels building strong, compelling relationships.
  • Technical and managerial qualifications or memberships commensurate with the position.
