We now have a great opportunity for an Administrator, to join our specialist team based at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and play an integral role in the successful running of the service

About the Administrator role:

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working as part of a busy orthotics and prosthetics department, supporting the clinicians and delivering an exceptional service to our variety of patients. Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, you’ll have a patient centred approach to service delivery and you will use your strong administration and customer service skills to support the smooth running of the service.

Responsibilities of the Administrator:


  • Meet and Greet patients arriving at M&SRC reception and booking in and out patients arriving for clinic appointments in Prosthetic and Orthotic services
  • Re-booking patients for follow up appointments and booking patients initial appointments
  • Delivering excellent customer service and building patient relationships, liaising with patients as appropriate 
  • Assisting in maintaining up to date information for patients attending services
  • Telephone answering and call management, forwarding calls to NHS departments as required.
  • Assist in filing and file retrieval as required
  • Printing clinic lists for clinical team
  • Assisting in process development and improvements
  • General administrative duties such as filing, photocopying
  • Support in service audit and evaluations as required
  • Scanning and uploading of patient data to patient records in line with paper free working

Requirements of the Administrator:

They will be flexible and adaptable in their approach and work to high standards, with care and integrity, to maintain the reputation of our prestigious brand and achieve the rewarding duties of the role. They will consistently deliver a high level of customer service; have a pleasant telephone manner and good interpersonal skills in order to interact with patients and colleagues effectively.  They will be a team player, but also have the ability to work on their own initiative, and to tight deadlines when required. 

This is a highly customer focussed, administrative role; therefore the successful applicant will ideally have experience working in an administration role with Customer Service experience. They will be exceptionally customer focussed, with the ability to manage expectations and deliver a high quality service at all times. They will be pro-active, well organised and have the ability to work under pressure, managing conflicting deadlines, to achieve and exceed desired results.
