The Quality Engineer Role
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality from the supplier, manufacturing and customer perspective is to agreed standards and requirements; this is a hands-on position. 

The Quality Engineer’s role is to develop, implement and maintain Product Quality Systems in all areas of manufacturing and associated services, to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. This is achieved by providing functional and visual quality information to enable Suppliers, NPD projects and manufacturing departments to understand the quality criteria and to assemble or manufacture products to the correct and agreed standard in conjunction with customer requirements.

The role holder is also responsible for conducting root cause analysis and co ordinating corrective actions in relation to non-conformances.

Provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples.

Requirements for the Quality Engineer Role


  • Degree in related Engineering/Manufacturing discipline or HND
  • Experience of developing, implementing and reporting on product quality standards in a similar environment
  • Proven experience in manufacturing processes with knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Auditing experience essential.
  • Lean management / 6 sigma experience
  • Regulatory compliance experience
  • A strong eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong listening and analytical skills.
  • Sound judgement and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Confident decision maker and proactive problem solver, with a hands-on approach
  • The ability to work on own initiative and under direction where appropriate.
  • SQE experience
