The Dover Western Docks Revival Project, the single biggest investment undertaken by the Port, will create a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility at the Port, which currently handles up to £122 billion of UK trade each year.

The Police Constable Role
As a Police Officer, and public facing for the them, you will work in partnership with the public and other organisations to protect life and property, reduce crime and the fear of crime, whilst promoting confidence among local people that the Police are prepared to deal with the issues that matter most to them.

You must be a person who thrives on challenges, and be willing to work hard to learn the skills necessary to perform this critically important role. You will demonstrate a passion to provide a first class service in support of Dover Harbour Board’s commitment to be the Best Port in the World, for the benefit of our customers and community.

You must meet at least one of the following qualification criteria:


  • Have reached an educational standard of at least 2 ‘A’ Levels (Grade A* - C) or equivalent Level 3 Qualification (in the Regulated Qualification Framework for qualifications obtained in the UK or considered to be the equivalent in the UK National Recognition Information Centre for qualifications obtained outside the UK)
  • Have completed and passed a Level 3 Certificate in the Knowledge of Policing
  • Be a serving Police Community Support Officer, who has successfully completed their probationary period, gained independent patrol standard, completed 2 years service and has completed and passed, or has been trained to the standard of, a Level 3 Certificate in Policing (PCSO)
  • Be serving, or have previously served, in the Armed Forces or a uniformed public service and successfully completed at least 3 years service with an exemplary reference on discharge/leaving employment.
