Job Description

Panel Wireman

Location: Swindon

Salary: Competitive

Our clients company was set up by two engineers in 1992 to solve a problem, and that’s what they have been doing ever since. They solve problems by going back to the fundamentals – hence their name! They employ strong intellect; they build great expertise; and they work on the challenges that others avoid.

They are currently recruiting for a Panel Wireman to join their Swindon team. They think this role would suit an experienced wireman from a small to mid-sized company, but they would welcome any candidates with experience in similar relevant roles.

You will be joining a busy team and although you will be trained on our products you will need enough experience and knowledge to understand their requirements and be able to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams. Applicants who have a recognised apprenticeship in a related area, or can show equivalent experience on their CV, will be at an advantage.

Some of the tasks the jobs will involve are:

  • Building bespoke panels, gear plates and any other products on your own or as part of a team, working to instructions and/or electrical schematic drawings
  • Alongside building panels you will on occasion be required to undertake testing and inspection of a variety of panels built by others
  • Mark up of any corrections to the drawings to reflect the ‘as built’ status of each panel
  • Delivery of panels/products to site
  • Operating the laser engraving machine to produce labels for our products
  • Goods in duties if required
  • Stock check responsibilities

You will need the following skills or experience:

  • Practical hands on experience in a similar role
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams
  • Computer literate including familiarity with the usual MS Office suite
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and fire evacuation procedures
  • Preferably completed a recognised apprenticeship in a related area, or equivalent experience

They want to be a great place to work so they are looking for people who share their values to deliver quality products to customers and support their colleagues as part of their friendly team.

In return our client offers:

  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Company sick pay on completion of probation
  • Pension (as part of our auto enrolment duties)
  • Life Assurance
  • 24/7 Employee Helpline
  • Health Cash Plan (NHS top up) scheme
  • Baguette Friday! (optional subsidised lunch deal on a Friday)

If you have a knowledge of some of the above areas, a willingness to develop in others, and deliver WOW with a ‘yes we can’ attitude, then our client would like to talk with you.

If you feel like you meet the above criteria for the Panel Wireman, then please apply now!
