Lead Compliance

Salary: £40,000- 45,000 DoE

Location: Leeds City Centre

Hours of work: 35Hours Per week, Mon – Fri.

Our client is looking for a Lead Compliance to join their team, based at the Leeds City Centre office. They’re enormously proud of what they have achieved but their work never stops. The role will provide regulatory advice and direction to ensure that the charity’s transformation programme is compliant. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions.

About the Lead Compliance role:

This is a crucial role in determining the success of their growth plans. Within this role you would closely with stakeholders across multiple work streams of the transformation programme reporting directly to the Head of Compliance.

Lead Compliance Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the transformation programme to ensure that the highest standard of regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained.
  • Encourage a compliant culture within the programme through proactive engagement with workstream leads and key personnel.
  • Review processes and procedures across all work streams to ensure they meet current regulatory and legislative requirements, proactively challenging and recommending amendments where appropriate
  • Offer support and guidance to the project on all relevant Data Privacy elements
  • Review and approve all relevant client communications to ensure that they meet all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Promote and embrace a culture of continuous improvement by being open and proactive to improvements and carrying out improvements in line with the corporate methodology

Knowledge / Experience needed to become the successful Lead Compliance:


  • Significant experience gained as an experienced regulatory compliance professional within a financial services organisation, it is desirable for this to have been within the consumer credit sector 
  • Proven project management experience gained within a regulated environment – working within a live CRM environment using agile PM methodology is desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of the regulatory and legislative frameworks relevant to consumer credit, including but not limited to CONC, DISP, SYSC, PRIN and PERG
  • Sound understanding of data protection legislation including the requirements set out in the Data Protection Act 2018
  • Experienced in policy, documentation and process review and enhancement
  • Good knowledge of FCA conduct risks and application / impact to Charity processes
