Head of Business Development
Blackpool
£40,000 - £50,000 (Dependant on Experience)

The Head of Business Development Role
You will be hands on in terms of business development, with an expectation to roll up your sleeves and get stuck-in! Not simply a leader, you will be key part of the business development team “doing the do” on a daily basis.

Our Business Development team is evolving and we are looking to appoint someone who can nurture their talents at the same time as growing our business.

With a focus on developing ideas and new opportunities in relation to the changing face of Primary Care, the post-holder will lead our evolving Business Development team that works across both FCMS (NW) Ltd and PDS Medical Ltd.

The role will work with Directors, Business Development team, operational staff and other stakeholders to identify, create and develop opportunities to further grow and enhance our portfolio of services.

You will play a key role in ensuring that our existing services are future proofed and opportunities for innovation and delivering Primary Care at scale are explored and delivered.  

You will be required to both lead on and contribute to tender processes for new services, working with individual business units and other organisational support functions to create innovative and cost effective service offers.

Requirements of the Head of Business Development Role


  • Experience of structured writing, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of business or service development processes, with clear examples of having worked on service development, bidding or tendering processes.
  • Experience of working with Senior Management Teams
  • Must be educated to A-Level
  • Evidence of Professional Development
  • Ability to work with others to develop ideas and solutions
  • Leadership with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Able to communicate ideas, data and proposals with the ability to influence a range of audiences, including in writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a complex portfolio of work, making significant progress across a number of fronts over short periods of time
  • A passion to work closely with people every day
  • Strong IT skills and experience of using multiple packages
  • Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level
