The Catering Manager Role
This is a customer facing role in which you will prepare and serve food to Directors, staff and visitors in their onsite staff catering facility called Bistro 54. The role also includes management of the onsite self-serve coffee bar area.

You will supervise a part time catering assistant to ensure that all aspects of catering are supplied to a high standard throughout the Head Office, including visitor buffets, vending machines and staff lunches.


  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold food ensuring portion control and quality
  • Plan menus and agree pricing structure
  • Take customer orders, cash handling and using till system
  • Arrange and manage seasonal lunchtime staff events
  • Manage all advertising of events and menu changes/special offers
  • Preparing and setting out buffets for meetings
  • Regular checks on the Directors kitchen and Engine Room ensuring all supplies are fully stocked and the areas are clean
  • Manage and maintain appropriate food and beverage stock levels, including ordering, stock checks, keeping stock inventories and waste management, ensuring all stock is rotated and labelled as required.
  • Purchasing fresh food from local shops/suppliers
  • Checking and approving invoices
  • Manage all vending machines on site, including ordering supplies, cleaning and filling in line with manufacturers/suppliers requirements
  • Provide feedback to Manager on product sales, stock levels and future ideas.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed and recorded as appropriate 
  • Keep working areas clean and tidy to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment
  • Work in line with Food Hygiene Regulations and other regulatory legislation

Requirements for the Catering Manager Role

  • Previous experience running a Catering facility is required
  • Previous experience supervising staff is preferred
  • A current Food Hygiene Certificate preferred
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required
  • Must be Computer literate
  • Enthusiastic, creative and reliable
