Dover is the premier hub port for cruise lines in the South East and one of the busiest cruise ports in Britain and Northern Europe, welcoming over 20 individual cruise lines and 200,000 cruise passengers every year. The current Dover Western Docks Revival will transform the waterfront, enhancing Dover’s status as a first class destination for cruise passengers and cruise lines. They provide Shipping Services for our customers including Pilotage and Mooring together with Passenger Services delivered by our Baggage Handling and Passenger Access staff.

With major new visitor attractions such as the White Cliffs Christmas Event at the Port’s historic Cruise Terminal 1, COAST could provide employment opportunities all year round.

The Baggage Handlers Role
Exciting opportunities have arisen for Baggage Handlers to work within their busy Cruise Terminal.

They have positions starting from March until November as well as having possible future opportunities to progress within the business.

Duties will include:


  • ‘Baggage handling’ assisting in the unloading and reloading of baggage off and onto the Cruise ships
  • ‘Passenger access’ assist wheelchair passengers on and off the cruise ships
  • Assist other service areas including Mooring and Traffic

Requirements for the Baggage Handlers Role


  • Physically fit – be able to lift up to 24kg
  • Previous Customer Service skills would be an advantage
  • You will need to enjoy being part of a busy Customer focused team.
  • Be able to work shifts including weekends as well as any additional hours as and when required
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Good communication skills
